Hanna's on Her Way
Sep. 6th, 2008 11:57 amRain is pelting down outside. The National Weather Service map for 11:00am (EDT) shows Tropical Storm Hanna sitting on the Virginia-North Carolina border, with what should be the eye (except Hanna doesn't have much of an eye, being a Tropical Storm) a bit west of the Newport News/Virginia Beach area. The storm should be up in these parts by mid- to late afternoon. If you like weather stuff, here's a link to the National Weather Service's hurricane page.

Date: 2008-09-09 03:39 pm (UTC)We got fairly soaked going to our month D&D game - we stopped at Giant to pick up snacks - but it was all over by the time we left, late in the evening.
Heroic Pizza Man! He braves hurricanes to deliver pies ... ! XD

Date: 2008-09-10 09:21 pm (UTC)Yes, we had rain too, and now it's much cooler.
My hair is just starting to get the it's-growing-out look ... I think I have 2 weeks 'til I get it re-done.
My co-worker has been out sick for two days, making it impossible for me to do much more than the day-to-day updates and revisions - I had to teach a little mini-seminar today without the documentation I wanted to hand out because I hadn't been able to finish it.
I wish you lived closer. If wishes were fishes ... .

They do a sound-wave surgery thing for those nowadays, don't they?

Date: 2008-09-09 03:43 pm (UTC)Yeah, the map of the Atlantic with the hurricanes being cranked out one after another really makes the nature of the storms hit home! You might like this one, too. Try the "spin off your own hurricane" thing! (I did on article on the Galveston hurricane of 1900 for Monday's column, and that was one of the links I found for it.)
