So I Went to the Orthopedist Today ...

... about the plantar fasciitis in my left foot. And he basically said "Well, our Round 1 therapies haven't been effective, so I have several possible things you could do for Round 2." And in the interest of efficicacy and time-saving, I opted to ...
... have a cortisone injection directly into the heel of my foot.
Really, the song and dance he made about this was amazing. He must have some patients with very sensitive feet and low threshholds of pain. The idea of it was nasty, but even though it hurt quite a lot, it was over in about 30 seconds. I just deep-breathed my way through it (which freaked him out a bit).
Anyway, it's still a bit achy, but he said it should improve rapidly. And I'm also supposed to see about physical therapy twice a week for 4 weeks or so.
Now if this stupid cough I picked up in Cophenhagen would just go away! It seems to be fading, but it's slow.

Date: 2008-07-14 02:12 pm (UTC)Arrrgh, so much stuffs to experience, so little time! Akamine Kamijyo (SDK) abruptly ended her steampunk-ish Silvery Crow series, but her new one, Code Breaker, is coming out of the gate strongly. And I've only read the first issue's scanlation thus far!
I seem to recall that Hakkai is the only guy in the ikkou to use boku. That would an interest tidbit to track for the SDK guys too. Akira is very poliet until he gets POed, but I don't know if he's polite enough to be using boku. I imagine Yukimura does!

;-)
And vol. 29 of SDK is out ... I ordered it on Amazon because Borders didn't seem to be getting to it. And now I have to wait until next Monday!
Yes, Kyo is definitely an ore-sama type. In fact, at one point he makes a statement that "I am myself - nothing more and nothing less!" - and it comes out very poetically, with ore-sama as part of it.
No, really poking around the F-Y comm is one of the things I haven't been able to do! The normal-life-and-hearty-dinners one sounds very cute.

Date: 2008-07-16 04:13 pm (UTC)Eeek! I wish you had let me know you were having trouble finding them - I could have kept an eye out at the Silver Spring Borders.
(You can read "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" once they get out of the forest and are recovering at the inn.)
Hee, maybe we should go shopping at Dupont Circle sometime.
The FAKE final scene was sneaky - if you had some idea what was likely to be going on, it was pretty clear ... .
