The weatherfolk are calling for storms tonight as well, but it should be the more-usual "scattered thunderstorms" and nothing like last night's derecho event (link to WaPo).

I'm so glad you and your family are safe, Cho. I read the reports, it must have been terribly frightening.

I was watching on Friday night with a sort of horrified fascination. Our big old red oak in the front yard was thrashing its huge limbs like (as the Mr. said) a Walloping Willow. But it didn't lose anything major, thank goodness.
