This is surprisingly addicting, even though I can't understand much more than the character's names and a very few words (like onna - "woman"):
Hakkai (well, Gonou in these scenes) is completely adorable, and the scene where he's telling his story to Gojyo is quite close to the manga, I think - complete with Gojyo holding up his pinkie yakuza-style to mean a woman when he asks about the person Gonou has lost.

I like the Gojyo guy, although I haven't seen him do a real Gojyo Grin yet. He seems to be better at the serious expressions.

Date: 2009-06-12 08:00 pm (UTC)But you're right, a Gojyo grin or really any kind of lighter moment would have been nice. I mean I loved all the angst and drama, but what's Saiyuki without the fun? Maybe that just got lost in the non-existant translation. But overall, I really liked it.
