Do your fannish friends frequently ask you for SPAG (spelling and grammar) betas of their stories? Do your RL friends and relatives beg you to look over their papers and resumes? Do you frequently consider taking a red pen to advertisements and magazine articles? Would you like a chance to give back to fandom?

You're probably just what we need over at Fandom Grammar! As you may know, Aerith, Fandom Grammar is the community that allows fannish writers to ask their grammar and other language usage questions and receive answers in fan-friendly (and entertaining) format.

If you think you've got what it takes, check out our fearless leader's recruitment post!

We need more questions to answer!

Got a question you're arguing with your beta? Got a pet peeve you wish fandom would fix? Run into a problem somewhere else that still applies to fannish writing? We'll take them all.

Go to the Ask a Question post on [livejournal.com profile] fandom_grammar to suggest them. Comments are screened, so don't worry about being embarrassed.

No topic is too obscure, no question too nitpicky.

May the Grammar be with you!

So it's been a bit more than a month since [livejournal.com profile] whymzycal assigned me these seven things! Life has been rather complicated during that time, to say the least.

Not a week after I first broached the subject in this space ... it is time!

Think you’ve got the chops and the passion to explain the rules of English grammar to fandom writers and readers? Fill out an application to be a Fandom Grammarian!

Recruiting is open once again. We’re looking for as many as 8 new grammarians to fill the ranks for 2012. No specific background is required as long as you have a passion for grammar and can write a thorough response to a question.

Click on the banner (left) for the full announcement, instructions, and schedule. Note that although the application period closes at the end of February, you should apply before then (say, by February 15) so that you have time to complete your question responses (which are used as samples of your work).
