Stayed Home Today
Feb. 8th, 2008 03:57 pmBecause I was tired and icky and I think my body has had it with the medical activities. Only 3 more sessions to go ... . I came home after today's session and played Civ for about 30 minutes and read a fic I had saved offline and then went back to bed and slept for about 4 hours!
We already get lots of junk mail because I shop online, so all those places (and those places' buddies) send us their dead-tree catalogs. To that mass has recently been added college mailings for the Young Lady. Thank God we have curbside recycling, is all I have to say!

I was just too tired and bummed out. It was that kind of day. And this isn't an especially intresting game I'm playing ... I have most of one large continent, and the folks on the other continent are already all trading with each other - no one has any spare things to trade, and because they can reach each other by road, none of them seem to have bothered to build ports or something - the AI keeps telling me "we need a sea route to the French" (or whomever). And I know it's not my fault - I have Navigation. Silly lazy other civilizations!

Date: 2008-02-10 04:54 am (UTC)My moment of triumph, long ago, was playing the board game Civilization with a group of friends. I ended up with North Africa, which is so resource-poor that you can't do anything but survive for a really long time, and everyone tends to forget about you, and discount you for most of the game. So I sat there, biding my time, gathering resources and working on technologies and building ships...
...and then, when everyone least expected it, I unleashed the Barbary Pirates upon the world!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
