A Slow Start

Well, here it is 10 days into the new year, and a week after receiving some very good advice from the f-list about how I should spend my time, and I have not done any of those things. No new manga or books blogged, no costumes even started, no new fic written.
On the other hand, right here beside the keyboard is a stamped, addressed envelope with registration form (and fee check) for the Tai Chi class, which starts on the 24th. I'm hoping I'm not too late - I will mail it on my way out tonight (I'm waiting for a server swap to occur - I need to make sure things are running on the new server before I leave). And I have been playing with the specific fic idea that was suggested.
Major obstacles to progress: that blasted cold, persistent low-level pain at the surgical site (which I was told is normal - I've just got to remember to take ibuprofen before the pain gets annoying), having to go to radiation 5 days per week, and preparation for late X-mas this weekend with the Mr.'s family. (At least that one will be out of the way soon.)
Two steps forward, one step back ... .

Date: 2008-01-11 02:58 pm (UTC)Ooops ... yeah, I blew it. That's what I have. Prognosis is good, though.
There's a screened posting list I usually use when I want to put something up about how that's going, but I think you friended me after I asked whether people wanted to know. If you want to track that, and/or read my earlier posts about the diagnosis etc., I can add you to the posting list. I get moderately graphic at times ... . I also know that people can be very kind and well-meaning and still get squicked out by medical stuff, so it doesn't bother me when people don't want to know all the grotty details.

You're on the filter now - if you click health in the tag cloud on the left, you should be able to see entries back into August, which is when I first found a lump and started worrying.

Date: 2008-01-11 03:01 pm (UTC)At this point I just have a tickly cough, but it isn't yet interfering hugely with anything. Earlier in the week, the runny-nose and aches things were very wearing. I often get bronchitis as a sequela to a cold or the flu, but it hasn't happened yet with this one ... > breathes warily <
Thanks for the warm (soupy!) thoughts!
