Update on the Messy Little Injury

Thanks for all the sympathy and good wishes!

So I accidentally broke the blisters over the weekend (hit my hand on the edge of the Mr's car's glove compartment), and it turned out they were just one big blister with two lobes, because the whole thing went flat. Moaned and had to have gauze on it again for 24 hours, then picked up hydrocolloidal dressings at the grocery store's drugstore aisle. Eureka - perfect thing for the poor barely-formed skin under the blisters.

I let it go bare this morning because I was running out of the dressings. They're supposed to last for several days, and I have had the heel blister version do exactly that in the past, but hands get washed and stuff and fingers flex, so I was barely getting 24 hours out of them. But by lunch, the new, red skin was looking and feeling so dry and crinkly that I got a new box of the dressings. And now it's itching like nuts. :-(
