Why don't I see great siblings like these guys in the things I usually read? So many people in manga and speculative fiction are orphans, or they hate their siblings.

(Yes, I can think of a couple of exceptions, but spoilers. For Saiyuki, among other things.)

(And now I can hear Ariane Emory I: "Family can be such a liability." *sigh*)

A good fictional sibling relationship is such a beautiful thing. *^^*

You obviously know about my now-longstanding adoration of the Newsflesh sibs, so I won't go into that. Instead! Have you looked into Orphan Black? The main character's relationship with her foster brother is absolutely lovely and plausible and induces a lot of oh my heart from me.
