Apple Cake!
Nov. 4th, 2012 12:51 pmWe had some apples left over from the stock-up I did before Hurricane Sandy, so I made an apple cake (adapted from the 1975 Joy of Cooking - Apple Cake Cockaigne; mostly I made it a little leaner by using skim milk and the smaller amount of butter specified, and I added some oat to the batter for a little more fiber).

Date: 2012-11-05 01:47 am (UTC)I'm not very good at making pies. I'll likely have some slivers of pumpkin pie over Thanksgiving weekend (we have two dinners lined up ... possibly three, if my friend Kat has her usual turkey soup supper on the Friday). Pumpkin is my biggest pie weakness.
The Young Lady has (unfortunately from my point of view) learned to make an absolutely dynamite pie crust ... fortunately she's busy doing it at her school apartment and feeding it to her fellow Quidditch team members, who can no doubt burn it off in no time.
