I Signed Up for OTW Too Late to Vote

Goddammit, I need to learn to strike while the iron is hot.

(I was going to the election page to re-read some bits on the candidates statements, and saw the note about expecting the access codes for the election. And it gave the date range for when memberships would have had to be paid up. And I checked my PayPal transaction date, and it's clear that I screwed up - by more than a week.)

Well, damn. -_- (I say this with extra feeling because since yesterday I'd been thinking I should sign up in order to vote but that it was probably too late.)

Yeah. the post on the OTW election news page said "If you made a qualifying donation and became a member between 1 October 2010 and 17 October 2011, then you should have an email which includes a unique randomly assigned username ... ."

:/ I'd seen that, but was kind of hoping it might still not be too late somehow, since it doesn't explicitly SAY "and if you joined after that, too bad for you". *sighs* But I knew I was reaching.

One of the things that resonates with me the most in Diana Wynne Jones' Fire and Hemlock is the lesson Polly learns about not being afraid to go forward when faced with social pressure and embarrassment. It seems I have to learn this over and over again!
