What should I re-read right now, to remember her? She is the author of so many of my favorite books:

And then there's always The Tough Guide to Fantasyland.
A bit of light has gone out of the world.

Date: 2011-03-27 01:57 am (UTC)I love Deep Secret so much. Did you see that I'd received fanfiction for it in the Purimgifts exchange?
I think I want to re-read The Homeward Bounders first, but I need to recall where I put my copy.

Date: 2011-03-27 02:14 am (UTC)I think Charmed Life might have been my first as well!
Yes, I recall that you liked Hexwood, which is one of the ones I like least, although I don't think any of her books were actually bad. I have often thought, in the past, what a remarkable woman, that she could write so many different sorts of books!

Date: 2011-03-27 05:23 pm (UTC)HB would hurt, but in a good way. The re-read will probably end up being whatever of my favorites I locate first. They should all be in the speshul bookcase in the bedroom, but they tend to wander.
(I just wrote a brief but impassioned e-mail note to the Washington Post about the fact that they haven't written a thing about this yet, although they have reviewed her favorably many times. In fact, all the mainstream media are slow off the mark on this. I did just find the Guardian obit and have added the link to my post.)

>hugs<
I found several of my fave DWJs had migrated into the Young Lady's room - I retrieved them after we took her back to college last night. I'm so shocked - shocked, I tell you!

Date: 2011-03-28 01:43 am (UTC)I need to actually go and start reading some book ... I've been rather morbidly searching online most of the day instead, to see what people are saying about her.
Yes! The Ogre Downstairs! The toffee bars, in particular, never fail to make me very happy!
