Mallow Bunny Is Still Very Sick

He really wasn't looking any better, so I took him back to the vet today.

Dr. Schwartz is wondering whether it's a bad inner ear infection thing. He also mentioned the possibility of a brain abscess, but he looked into Mallow's eyes and decided that probably wasn't it.

He gave the bun two new medications, a broader-spectrum antibiotic (Baytril) and an anti-inflammatory, and gave him some more fluid. And he gave me the subcutaneous fluid setup to take home, and I just muddled through giving him some for the first time myself.

Dr. Schwartz said that if he doesn't look better in a couple of days, the prognosis is very bad.

Mallow is still eating, but somewhat more slowly. I'm trying to keep him clean, but it's very difficult.

Poor bunny. Somehow it's always scarier when little animals like cats and rabbits get sick than big ones like dogs.
