Your result for Awakening the Hero Within: Hero Archetype Test...

You are the Lover.

54% Innocent, 38% Orphan, 46% Warrior, 50% Caregiver, 63% Seeker, 75% Lover, 50% Destroyer, 58% Creator, 56% Magician, 58% Ruler, 50% Sage and 46% Fool!

Goal: Bliss

Fear: Loss of love

Response to Dragon/Problem: Love it

Task: Follow bliss

Gift:Passion, commitment

Addictions: Relationships, sex

The Lover’s path is the path of the Soul, the path of Eros instead of Ego. The Lover is often unfairly criticized for his/her lack of prudence when making decisions by following the often illogical, more difficult path of following one’s passion. Most of the other Archetypes, especially the Orphan and the Sage, will be very critical of the Lovers ability to surrender their control for their passions. A well-developed Lover, however, also has a strong identity and a deep foundation that is not easily recognized by the types that are controlled by Ego.

Shadow Lover:

When Eros is denied due to social or other cultural restrictions, it goes underground and emerges in its shadow forms, which are depraved and destructive rather than life-giving and life-promoting. The Shadow Lover causes violence, jealousy, and the objectification of self and others.

I scored much lower on the Caregiver and a bit higher on the Warrior and Fool than you did, but overall, my scores look similar to yours. The test labels me a Creator, too.

High five!

Haha leave the anime and manga and dive right into the fanfic... There is some truly glorious fanfiction out there, but the anime is so bad, so full of plot holes and character holes and... well, bad, that it's almost off putting.

Basically, they have a very interesting concept with intriguing characters, but they simply don't use it, which is sad.

I came into Weiss Kreuz by reading a couple of Saiyuki/Weiss cross overs and was interested enough to start reading Weiss fic by the same author, than by other authors I know from Saiyuki and... Well before I knew it was sold. I only watched the anime much later and it turned out a huge disappointment.

My results... Far from unexpected

Your result for Awakening the Hero Within: Hero Archetype Test...

You are the Caregiver

54% Innocent, 25% Orphan, 63% Warrior, 100% Caregiver, 67% Seeker, 83% Lover, 58% Destroyer, 79% Creator, 60% Magician, 58% Ruler, 71% Sage and 71% Fool!

Goal: Help others.

Fear: Selfishness

Response to Dragon/Problem: Take care of it or those it harms

Task: Give without maiming self or others

Gift: Compassion, generosity

Addictions: Caretaking, codependence

The ideal of the Caregiver is the perfect, caring parent—generative, loving, and attentive to noticing and developing talents and interests. The Caregiver is the creator of community that helps people feel that they belong and are valued and cared for by encouraging nurturing relationships between and among individuals and constituencies.

Shadow Side:

Shadow caregivers wish to maintain indefinitely the symbiotic state experienced by mother and child, devouring the growing your protégé to try to keep it or make it part of his or her own self. The irony, of course, is that Shadow Caregivers devour others wile also feeling devoured themselves by the caregiving roles. In fact, protégés are often driven or manipulated into doing what the Shadow Caregiver would like to be doing in an unlived life. A Shadow caregiver also may feel that s/he never gets anything back for his/her trouble. However, this type of Shadow caregiver also cannot get anything back, because s/he refuses to receive. These Caregivers may use guilt and obligation they inspire in others to get their own way.

For what it's worth:

Your result for Awakening the Hero Within: Hero Archetype Test...

You are the Ruler

63% Innocent, 42% Orphan, 71% Warrior, 54% Caregiver, 71% Seeker, 67% Lover, 63% Destroyer, 71% Creator, 64% Magician, 75% Ruler, 71% Sage and 50% Fool!

Goal: Order, prosperity

Fear: Chaos

Response to Dragon/Problem: Find its constructive uses

Task: Take full responsibility for life

Gift: Responsibility, control

Addictions: Control, codependence

Rulers are realists who do not have the leisure to have illusions; they are integrated, whole and ready to take responsibility for loves. Rulers understand that his/her own capacity for harm is as great as their capacity for good, and take responsibility for his/her actions. The Ruler maintains life and governs it. The emergence of the positive Ruler archetype indicates some achievement of mastery in the world. At best, Rulers are ecological and find the best methods to deal with everything.

Shadow Ruler:

The Shadow Rulers feels a compelling need to control her/himself and others and an inability to trust the process. Control is wanted for its own sake or for power, status, or personal aggrandizement rather that to manifest the kingdom that would gratify us on a deep level. Shadow Rulers operate out of a scarcity mentality, believing that there is not enough so ‘my gain must be their loss.’ The Shadow Ruler emerges not because they feel we have too much power, but because we feel we have much too little. Often Shadow Rulers are substituting power over others for power from within the self.

I have. I did the official, full-blown version back in 1989 (took a look at it recently) and came out INTJ, which is what I would have guessed anyway.

I've taken web-based versions recently that claim to be the same thing and come out INFJ in one, INTP in another. Oddly, when I took it in 1989, I had no decided preference for I or N, but did for T and J. Now it's almost the reverse. Go figure.

To the extent the results are meaningful, I still think the original one is more likely to be accurate, but there may have been some movement around the edges. Or maybe it's all a bunch of hooey.

Cool!

You are the Sage

33% Innocent, 63% Orphan, 58% Warrior, 38% Caregiver, 71% Seeker, 50% Lover, 50% Destroyer, 67% Creator, 48% Magician, 50% Ruler, 75% Sage and 42% Fool!

Goal: Truth
Fear: Deception
Response to Dragon/Problem: Transcend it
Task: Attain enlightenment
Gift: Wisdom, non-attachment
Addictions: Being right, tranquilizers

Sages have little or no need to control or change the world; they just want to understand it. The Sage’s path is the journey to find out the truth– about ourselves, our world, and the universe. However, it is not simply about finding knowledge, but about becoming wise. The challenge of the Sage is to decode the clue and solve the underlying riddle of existence. They seek to cultivate and attitude of dispassionate reflection so that they can experience real truth. The Sage merely watches the action, while looking for the underlying truth.

Shadow Sage:

The Shadow Sage is not so much unattached as cut off from reality. S/he is so obsessed by non-attachment that s/he cannot commit to people, projects, or ideas. Sometimes a Negative Sage deludes her/himself with the idea that his provides him/her with freedom, but s/he is not free at all. The negative Sage is addicted to being perfect and truthful and right and has no tolerance of normal human feelings or vulnerabilities. Such a Sage often tends towards ascetic practices and constantly derides the self or others for any sign of not being perfect.

Shadow Sages also tend to try to make the world seem less mysterious by limiting the number of acceptable ways of perceiving reality. Such individuals are also incapable of acknowledging the way that their own subjective biases colour their supposedly rational findings. Shadow Sages typically want to control knowledge in such a way that it is not threatening by focusing on a style that correspond to their learning style. Knowledge, then, becomes a way of showing superiority to others. Their primary focus thus becomes not on the attainment of wisdom itself, but on the evaluation of others. Whatever relative truth they have discovered is identified with absolute truth, and their primary focus is in guarding this truth from assaults by the barbarians.

I'm the Seeker, but I could also easily be the Caregiver or the Creator...I dunno, this seems kind of one-dimensional to me. I don't even know if that makes sense. Oversimplified, maybe.

I got the Destroyer - which seems pretty accurate for the place I'm in right now, although I don't know how accurate it is for me overall. Interestingly, I had an almost equal score (difference of 4%) for Creator.
