So the compilations of weekly or monthly manga serial issues are called tankoubon in Japanese.
Is it appropriate to use that term for the English compilation volumes?

Date: 2007-06-16 10:47 am (UTC)I still have U.S. History and Physics to go (Tuesday and Thursday, respectively), but I've finished up English and Math B, which weren't so bad. Free for a few months, I am. Maybe now I can write something.

It's probably doing it too much honor to call it outlining, but I can't think of a better word for it. Basically I ramble on descriptively about what happens in the story, with an occasional bit of dialog if I've already thought of something that sounds right. It's like what would happen if I were to summarize a story I'd read, complete with my favorite lines of dialog, without worrying about spoilers.
Before I get even that far, I've usually daydreamed a good deal of it while walking to or from the Metro station or while waiting to fall asleep. And I'll continue to do that afterward while I'm "incubating" the idea, until I feel like actually writing.
