Classic Icon Meme, ganked from lady-ganesh, in this case:
1. Reply to this post, and I'll pick four or five of your userpics that I like.
2. Make a entry and talk about the icons I've selected.
3. Other people will then comment on your entry and you'll do the same as I've done for you.
4. Thus, we will help create a NEVER ENDING STREAM of icon squee.
I should have put a link to my previous answer to this, but on the other hand, this serves to prove that my Saiyuki "Hearts & Sorrow" is aging gracefully:

This is Lu LaRue, from Akamine Kamijyo's short-lived series Shirogane no Karasu (The Silvery-Winged Crow), which involved various eccentric thieves competing with each other to collect pieces of |

Kenpachi Zaraki, the leader of the notoriously combative 11th Division of Soul Reapers in the manga Bleach, exists to fight. He's never so happy as when someone is actually coming close to beating the snot out of him, because it's so rare that he gets an actual challenge. With this pic, I hear him saying "Let's Dance!" with the same inflection David Bowie uses in the song of that title. |

Shiina Yuya is the heroine of Samurai Deeper Kyo. The main thing about her is she never gives up. Also, although she is frequently tossed in to damsel-in-distress situations, she usually reacts to them with anger and annoyance rather than fear and cries for help. On the other hand, she's constantly going "HUH?" in reaction shots as the situation gets weirder and weirder. |

We have two elderly bunny rabbits: Marshmallow, a male grey-and-white English spot mix, and Brownie, a female red tortoiseshell mini-rex. They are now about 10 years old, but they can still get up the energy to race around the room when faced with the promise of a favorite treat, like a bit of banana. |

This got picked by macavitykitsune in the last icon go-round! It doesn't take much to connect Gojyo with the Hearts suit in the card deck - after all, when you first see him in "Be There," he's holding a hand of all hearts. And then there's a classic British folk tune that Joan Baez recorded that begins "To the Queen of Hearts is the Ace of Sorrow - he's here today, he's gone tomorrow ... ." So, being a compleat 585 fangirl, I did a bit of genderswitch and made this icon. |

Date: 2009-09-10 02:36 am (UTC)They are still amazingly cute. They are also a lot more sociable than people who have only seen rabbits kept in a cage would think (we let them have the run of one room as long as someone is home and awake). Think of small dogs, but without the barking or whining - they hardly make any sound except for tiny growls with a guinea pig whistle overtone. They run up and nudge my ankles with their noses when I come into the room - food's the main thing they want, but they'll accept petting. And Mallow knows that dinner won't show up until their night-time pen is shut around the one corner of the room (with their litterbox and nest-box), so he'll sometimes try to tug it into place for me.

Date: 2009-09-10 12:03 pm (UTC)She has indeed become lighter with age. Especially right after a moult, until she was 4 or 5, her fur was all sorts of rich shades of red brown, with darker points. You could imagine the target for which the breeder was headed (she was sold off because her body markings were very vague).
