I've been working on these on and off for a couple of months. I'm still not happy with the Benny one - it's too bright and pastel compared with the others. But I've been messing around with it for far too long at this point ... I had to draw in the back part of his hair and ear and so on.

I don'read Black Lagoon, but the icons are really nice! Love #2 6 and 6 especially :)

But you should read Black Lagoon - it has awesome female characters! (Revy - icon #6 - is so much like a girl!Kyo that it's pretty unbelievable.)

I'm glad you liked the icons! Icon #2 is Eda, who's becoming my favorite character. She's usually disguised as a nun.

May someday I will :) I think Maus has read some of it at least, because he rocognized some cosplayers at Kawaii Con dressed as Revy and someone else. But for now one major fandom is enough for me, I can barely keep up with that next to packing and sorting for the move ^_^

Hee, love the punny captions on so many of those! That really is a seriously odd picture of Benny-boy, though -- between the pastel coloring and soft-focus, he looks like he's only twelve or so...

(Speaking of icons, I finally went trawling for screencaps and then poring over both the manga and anime scenes with Shenhua, with very poor luck. The manga scenes where she's fixing her makeup all catch her in the middle of slightly goofy facial expressions, the anime has her looking rather more elegant-badass but crops her face oddly in one scene and has wretched lighting in the other. Guess I have to hope for another guest appearance to icon her, or else start looking for fanart instead...)

What's funny is that the original picture was very dark, for the most part. Strange things sometimes happen when you punch out a selected section of a picture in Photoshop - misc. pixels in the same color sometimes disappear at the same time.

Argh, yeah, I can't find any more good pix of Shenhua other than the one I used, and not any of her doing her face either. So sorry!

Well, if you ever want more color pics of any of the other characters, particularly minor ones, beyond what you can find from the artbooks/cover images, I can definitely do screencaps for you -- it only gets potentially iffy if you want a particular character in a very specific pose! If I just wanted any random color image of Shenhua, there'd be tons of good scenes to choose from.
