I did like the large number of sensible people who showed up and said things along the lines of "Look, lots of folks are expressing the same opinion. This is not one person's witch hunt - this is a serious problem."

I've been pondering the Walt Whitman comment all day. As near as I can tell, there are 2 possibilities for what's meant:

1) If you are gay, you don't count as a man.

2) If you are gay, the evil feminist critics and POC will automatically love you purely because you aren't straight, regardless of your actual work..

I haven't decided which is worse, rampant homophobia, or labelling any critical response as shallow, prejudiced, and idiotic.
