There are tons more photos up on my Flickr account - I meant to tell the parade committee they could use them for their site if they wanted, so I included as many of the parade units as possible. I wonder if they would still be interested.

Oh, and this post is also an experiment in automatically creating an entry from Flickr.

(ETA: Only partially successful. I'll need to edit the Flickr template if I want to do photo posts this way. Also, unless they allow variables, I won't be able to do a set link. )

Looks like a fun time...and you never know, they might want to use them for publicity for next year or something! Or if you've got it tagged nicely, you never know who will pounce on it -- those same Schmap people who used your one of your Copenhagen photos added one of my doll pics up for their page on the Smithsonian's Haupt Gardens...

Speaking of Flickr, I was poking through dog photos there the other night, and check out this handsome rogue. Now that's just the sort of canine version of Kenren I was talking about -- effortlessly wreaking havoc, and so damn charming he gets away with it. ;)

Did you follow the tags to the rest of that guy's photos? There are some absolutely hysterical ones where you see the dog's food-mooching mind control even worked on his human's baby. And he's quite the caring canine big brother, constantly trying to wash the human puppy properly, standing guard over dangerous contraptions like swings, and generally lecturing the humans constantly for failing to live up to malamute standards of puppy care. XD

And yep, I took the wee kitsune out for the Cherry Blossom Festival and let her do a little tree climbing. What happened to the Haupt Garden last year? The flowering trees around the Moongate Garden where I took all those shots seemed to be doing OK, but I didn't explore the entire grounds since I wanted to hit the festival vendors.

Yeah, I was mostly shooting inside the Moongate Garden, which is sort of tucked away behind the Freer/Sackler and bottlenecked with, surprise surprise, big round gates, so distance and built-in traffic limitation probably protected it a bit; plus it's mostly flowering trees surrounding a paved courtyard with a water feature, so it's probably more trample-proof than big beds of tender smaller plants.

And you should definitely check the rest of that doggy set sometime when you can scrape up ten or fifteen minutes -- it's not very big, but it's full of extremely amusing cuteness. :) The stories of his antics really sound so much like my old boy (right down to taking over when he thought the humans seemed incompetent to raise a smaller juvenile creature, and sneak-thieving massive amounts of butter out of the kitchen...)
