Clearly this one is going to go 'round and 'round ... this was from redbrunja, who assigned me Revy Two-Hand, the psychotic Chinese-American gunwoman from Black Lagoon. [ETA: I haz Revy icon nao!]

   Yes, although she would never understand it. It's her buoyancy in the face of overwhelming odds and the soft streak that lets her (Spoilers for vol. 5:) play cops and robbers with the kids, and worry about Rock's being scarred for life by Yukio's grisly suicide.
    
2. What name/s do you call this character?
   
   Just Revy. Her real name's Rebecca, but it doesn't suit her. I don't think we've ever learned her surname.
    
3. What image-color do you associate with this character?
   
   Dark metal grey, with red flashes.
    
4. What image-song do you associate with this character?
   
   I had to get help from the local 17-yr-old, because I don't generally do angry/fuck-you music. Together we decided on Joan Jett's Bad Reputation (link for video):

   Heh, I doubt she'd listen to anything I'd say. She'll have to learn on her own that just because the world is full of shitty bastards, it doesn't mean you've got to become one of them: being kind and open-hearted doesn't equal being weak.

I'm wondering whether she had even less love as a tiny one than Gojyo did - he at least had his real mother until he was an older toddler.

I'll have to remember to click that music link when I'm next at home - last night I was writing. This week's saiyuki_time prompt (a word list that included kitten, feather, grow and knife) re-awoke the plot bunny we discussed more than 18 months ago, about what might have happened if wee Gojyo brought home a fuzzy pet.

Yes, I think Dutch and Doku would get along, although Doku would be a little appalled at Dutch's lack of ethics beyond his own crew (I think Doku's got a more wide-ranging viewpoint that way) and Dutch would think Doku was a big softie.
