Russia's Anti-Gay Propaganda Law ... and LJ?

The law that Russia's Duma has recently passed may well spell trouble for gay-friendly material posted on LiveJournals.

I would like to urge anyone who has slash/femslash stories and meta posted exclusively on LJ to consider posting copies to other platforms, such as AO3 or DreamWidth, that include protection of such works as part of their policies. My motives are pretty selfish in this (yeah, I want my favorite stories where I can get at them), but I think it's a reasonable idea to consider at this point.

My stuff is already backed up to an archive of the same name on DW (as opposed to this, which is my active account), and I've tried to copy most to AO3 as well, but now I am inclined to go delete the LJ entirely. Gah.

I've already got all my stuff backed up on DW and word... this is getting fucking ridiculous... whats wrong with Russia? :S

I am so glad a random person gifted me with an AO3 invite code last year. Livejournal, ugh, since I imported my journals over here and backed up my fics on AO3, I've been seriously contemplating just deleting my LJs. I stopped crossposting a while ago, and the only thing that's stopping me deleting them is the handful of people who have drifted, who might try to reconnect and have no way of knowing where I went. I could always send them a PM or email, but they'd probably end up getting buried.

Seriously, I feel like travelling back in time to when I quit LJ for DW, and everybody was sneering at me for deleting everything and burning my account(s) to the ground and going HAHA WHO'S THE PARANOID ONE NOW?
