Just About Ready for the Little Ghouls!
Oct. 31st, 2007 06:36 pmThe pumpkin has been eviscerated and carved, the candy is in the gi-gantic plastic ice bucket/punch bowl, there's a chunk o' change in a pretty box for the charity box-bearers, the Mr. is stuck across town but will amuse himself at Tysons Corner Center (big, famous mall), and the Young Lady is at friend K's house, eating formerly frozen pizza and getting ready to take the little Pirate King out with his sisters: they are his crew. (And my God, he must be fearsome, to command a crew who are all twice his size, at least!). It's to be hoped that the Pirate King's sisters have settled who is going to get to use which sword ... they were fighting about this by phone an hour ago.
And I am wearing my Kisuke Urahara T-shirt in lieu of a costume and have a plate of re-heated homemade lasagna (with spinach and sausage) and my flist. Live is pretty good.

Date: 2007-10-31 11:41 pm (UTC)Oooh, no! Go eat something! Even if it's just a cheese sandwich and an apple ... .
> hug! <
I kind of enjoy the Hallowe'en thing ... it has the right level of stranger interaction. We all know what we're expected to do, and we smile and do it.

Date: 2007-11-01 01:42 am (UTC)Yeah, it's funny - as much as I love my family, sometimes this is what I really want!

Date: 2007-11-01 01:45 am (UTC)Yeah, they've been cute! And so far, only one semi-sullen un-costumed adolescent. The good guys are winning!

Date: 2007-11-01 01:46 am (UTC)But of course! It would be terrible to run into an unfilled trick-or-treat bag unprepared!

Date: 2007-11-01 01:50 am (UTC)I did buy the lollipops because I knew sucking on them would make my throat feel better. XD

Date: 2007-11-01 02:19 am (UTC)Yeah, saltwater gargle is good, but not nearly as tasty as lollipops. I like those Gin-gins candies I recommended for Rachel's seasickness as throat lozenges, too.
(I tried to restrict myself to sampling one of each type of candy we got, but reneged on Take 5, which I'd never had before and found rather addictive ... I'm now forcing myself to drink healthy orange-carrot-ginger juice as a penance ... as penances go, it's not too bad ... .)
