Hello, Hoshi!

chomijilady_ganesh's friend box (who has, hmmm, adopted the same journal style as I have right now ... I was confused there for a minute) has finished her drawing of my current RPG character, and I am very happy with the result. It's just in time for our session this Saturday, too. Say hello to Hoshi Canid Mendel:

Hoshi is what D20 Future calls a Moreau - it comes out to basically the same as Cordwainer Smith's animal people in his Instrumentality of Mankind stories. The Canids are (as their name says) dog-people. Her hair/fur is tan on the sides and white through the middle.
Hoshi is the med tech/medic of the group. Much to the dismay of Mick the Marine, she will run into fire to rescue people, because human beings are Wonderful and Awesome. (So are other dog people, but she probably knows every single other dog person in the world - they're all from the same bio-engineering lab.)
She can function as a human being under most circumstances, but she has (advantages) enhanced sense of smell and hearing and (disadvantages) reduced dexterity (OK, so it went from an 12 to a 10) and vulnerability to Will saves when the command or attack comes from a human being. She had great Intelligence and Wisdom stats to begin with, and her species doesn't diminish those.
The scenario is "Days of Future Past" - science fiction based on pulp stories of the 1930-1950s, complete with food pills, ray guns, and veru little in the way of computers.
