...this is anime fandom. You aren't saying "desu desu kawaii lol." That makes you a freaking genius.
I still have U.S. History and Physics to go (Tuesday and Thursday, respectively), but I've finished up English and Math B, which weren't so bad. Free for a few months, I am. Maybe now I can write something.
I finally wrote something else too! It's being beta'ed ... . I've outlined like 6 stories, and hadn't been able to get around to doing anything with them because I was trying to finish another project first.
I sat down the other day and drafted up something for the femgenficathon, but I haven't written anything SDK-related in ages. I should. I have two stories I want to write and one I need to finish.
It's probably doing it too much honor to call it outlining, but I can't think of a better word for it. Basically I ramble on descriptively about what happens in the story, with an occasional bit of dialog if I've already thought of something that sounds right. It's like what would happen if I were to summarize a story I'd read, complete with my favorite lines of dialog, without worrying about spoilers.
Before I get even that far, I've usually daydreamed a good deal of it while walking to or from the Metro station or while waiting to fall asleep. And I'll continue to do that afterward while I'm "incubating" the idea, until I feel like actually writing.
I use tankoubon mostly for Japanese stuff, but sometimes I slip up and use it for English ones and nobody I know looks at me funny... and I've heard people call them "tanks."
I like that word "tanks" (I say it like tahnks) I grew up watchin war movies, so that word fits much nicer into my vocab by volumes (I MADE A PUNNY!) then "volumes". I dont like that word, I say it funny (I say ALL WORDS funny...I think we've established that already here). People think Im talking about valium...then I get funny looks from the people at the bookstore. So, I had to resort to changing how I ask for copies of manga I cannot find to keep people from thinking Im trying to buy drugs...and if you thought volume was a bad enough word for me...try understanding samurai deeper kyo comming out of my mouth. I say samurai pretty damn funny. Its like Sam-rye...*runs and hides in shame* How do I always end up so off-subject. It's all your fault Chomiji! You're so likeable!
b3n-chan, you say it "vahl-yum"? Did your family come from farther south originally? It sounds like you have a little Appalachia in there ... I had a friend from the Lynchburg area who spoke like that (she called her hometown "Lenchburg").
I have a little NYC in my speech despite always living in the Washington, DC area (except for 4 years of college in Charlottesville, VA) because both my parents came from the Bronx. For instance, the hot, dark brown caffeinated stuff I drink in the morning is "caw-fee" not "coh-fee."
I love accents and regional speech variation and that kind of stuff.
I'm always wandering off onto other topics and so I'm not surprised when the stuff on my LJ does the same. There's no on-topic requirement in this headspace!
Im such a mixture of accents its hard to be sure. My Dad's family is from West Virginia, Mom is from Northern Wisconsin (where I grew up a wee bit) and parts of Ohio are very accent-prone...so its a funky mixture. Its like a northern southerner mixed with eddie izzard (cause I sound kindve drunk when I talk). I say some things like a east coast girl like caw-fee, but then some of the things I say are very southern like ya'll and some of the things I say come out very far north like so-da or how I say wisconsin. I love the pure New York accent, its got spice! I love accents! My favorite would be the Irish, then the British (I love the BBC!). Girl, I am the queen of off-topicness, LOL dont feel bad! If everybody were always on topic the world would be too predictible! Variety is the flavor of life, drink up!

That's what I thought ... I mean, when the terminology exists, it often comes over more or less intact ... .

Well, I worry about sounding like I'm trying to prove I know more than I actually do ... . ;-)
So how's by you? Your exams are all finished now? You're free for a couple of months, maybe?
