This is all telophase's fault, because she made me remember that I had done these once upon a time (ca. 1978 or 1979, as an undergrad at U.Va.).
The male model I was boasting of (the one I said could play Cho Hakkai) ... yes, he does have feet, and I can even draw feet, more or less, but he was standing on a gym mat, and his feet sank in:

My work for that class was such a mixed bag! I pulled an A on projects that involved bones and still life elements, but only B on the actual people and on the anatomical muscle drawings. It wasn't until the end of the semester that I began to get what the teacher was driving at. I give him full credit - he was sure I could do it, and spent lots of extra time working with me on how to shade the muscle masses and so on.
