Well, sanada said she'd found evidence that it's a woman, and her Japanese is pretty darn good (she even wrote a linguistics paper on Japanese that was accepted for publication at one point). It was an interview article, and they were talking about the mangaka being a very dainty person and so forth. Also, there's the fanservice business - it's not much of a stretch for a female artist to draw fanservice pix of women, usually, but it's tougher for a guy to draw girl-oriented fanservice pix of guys, and you get Kamijyo doing things like this one of Shinrei ... .
Yes, Kosuke shows up later (she had some good scenes in the latest volume, for example). And she's the star of one of my earliest stories, which you could certainly read now. It's a short, slight little thing, but I still feel affectionate toward it. And actually, you could probably read the Xmas pr0n I wrote for sanada - this one. It's set just after the current arc, but since you already know that the main characters survive, there's not much to be spoiled. (Have you got through vol. 9 yet?)
