I just introduced The Young Lady to They Fight Crime.

(The impulse was inspired, I should add, by oyceter's recent book review.)

She's a fan! And meets him at a book signing! Enemies of Literature break into the store and attempt to rob it, and his being threatened brings out her Inner Hector! And he is Andromache! Or something! Why so many exclamation points! Even my icon!

Hee hee, that was one of the first WWW toys I ever saw, back in the late 1990s when the Web was new and shiny. It's had some slight facelifts since then, and I think they've added some new bits over the years, but it's the same old charmer it has been since the get-go.

I think that the most enchantingly deeply wrong character I ever saw come up was a mermaid with a flamethrower ... .
